Hey I'm all for comments negative or positive. But my question is, why is it that people who feel they need to make a negative comment, don't have the guts to let us know who they are? Some of you might know that I did a review on the movie Splice this weekend and I walked out. Well this was the comment I received this morning from my new "friend" ~ Anonymous:
Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "I had to walk out!":
I loved Splice...thought it was great creepy b-movie fun. Your tastes seem to run a little soccer-mom'ish so it's no surprise you didn't like it. You should stick to rom-coms.
All I can say is that this "Person" is ~ afraid, gutless, spineless, nervous, shy, frightened, backward, cowardly, dismayed, fainthearted, frightened, lacking courage, panicked, scared, timid and just plain weak! Honestly if you had left a name or a blog for me to check out, then I would have been impressed that you left such a comment. Now I wonder if you leave anonymous comments on everyone's blogs?
So basically you are saying, that because I didn't like the main character having sex with a woman/bird/antelope, then I'm considered a soccer mom? Oh forgive me for having some sort of morals. Hello, have you ever heard of bestiality? Or are you a man, and this is something you get your jollies off on?
I have no problem watching Romantic Comedies or Rom - Coms as you called them. I like the movie choices I make and will continue to do reviews good or bad and hope that if I can sway people from seeing crap out there, I will!
Oh and by the way, Canadian movie maker Vincenzo Natali had to seek French help to fund his new horror film "Splice," because Hollywood studio bosses were turned off by the sex scene between Adrien Brody and the creature he created!
I guess there are some sick minds in this world who want to test all boundaries and see what other sick minds follow them! Well, this funky woman won't be one of them!

Hey "soccer mom", you post just made me laugh, thanks! I do find "anonymous" people that make negative comments very, what word am I looking for, maybe "assinine" if I spelled it correctly. I've had my store for almost 20 years and the nastiest comments, complaints, etc never, ever come with a name! Just wanted to let you know, I personally enjoy your "soccer mom" blog ;0}
You tell them girl!
WHAM...BAM...POW!!! You go girl! Not having seen the movie, and definitely not going to see it after your review...I agree, bestiality is wrong on so many levels. What's with the soccer mom jab??? Just because you don't like a movie that deals with the sicker side of life doesn't make you a rom-com, soccer loving mom. I agree with you...if you're going to make a comment, good or bad, then own up to it and don't hide behind 'anonymous.' If you're afraid of saying who you are, then go by the old adage...if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all. PHEW! Enough said!
HA HA HA! love all your name calling.. LOVE HOW PEOPLE CAN DISH IT OUT BUT CAN'T AND WONT' TAKE IT IN RETURN. YOU GO GIRL! Seriously Bestiality... EWWW, and my stomach turns when I hear of a sex scene with some spliced made person creature... FAUL!!!! totally faul! SOCCER MOM... seriously THAT IS A HUGE COMPLIMENT... WHERE IT PROUDLY! hugs, Jenn
All I'm saying is, do people have fun going around leaving lame comments? That is idiotic. How miserable of a person do you have to be to leave something like that? Another friend of mine had a comment along the lines of "I don't know why you posted this. This is the stupidest topic ever. Who even cares?" Well obviously you do since you took the time to leave the comment. LAME.
Ok, first, that movie sounds disgusting and you were right to walk out. And second, how does this person even know your movie preferences? It's so annoying when people act like they "know you" and proceed to label you. Since when are there soccer mom movies? I'm a soccer Mom, and refuse to be offended by this label. My kids play soccer. Period.
I agree, don't be anonymous, whether you have something positive or negative to say.
Way to go Meg, you have integrity girl.
Good for you! Some people have a real problem with others giving their opinions about something. I'm so sick of walking on eggshells stating my opinions so as not to make someone else mad. For crying out loud! Your tastes are fine and if you didn't like the movie, why should "anonymous" give a rat's a**? Your morals are just fine!
Nancy
You know I say can't we agree to disagree? I am with you all the way here. What is wrong with people. I have lots of great blogging friends who have choose to have private blogs because of this nonsense. I have not even heard of this movie, for which I am ever thankful of you! As for rom coms I love them! Someone left me an anon. comment when I posted about some legal Mexican women bring my office some home made yummy food! They ripped into me about the whole immigration thing! I say show your true colors L O S E R S! I never leave anon. comments, I say what I say because I believe it! You go girl! You often make me laugh until I want ot cry and other times you are so serious. I love coming by. To heck with these whimpy, chickens! Cluck Cluck!
YOU GO GIRL. I am so out of the loop, I have never even heard of the movie, but I know for sure I would not like it either...
shoot, I meant to say that as a anon...lol
Ohhh how rude is that!!! You tell them girl!!!
What is wrong with people...Grrr
Kisses darling
That's why I block anonymous! They are gutless shallow people with nothing better to do!
I blog because I enjoy it and I feel that if people don't agree then why leave a nasty comment, just don't say anything...like mother always said, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all".
Don't let it bother you. Consider the source.

hehe...you go, soccer mom! I totally agree. If you have something to say, stand behind it! What's the point of being anonymous? I like Vintage Sassy's idea of blocking anon comments. Didn't know that was possible.
And, about the movie. I've never heard of it, but I LOVE Adrien Brody so I'm BUMMED this movie is crap. :(
Ha! How hilarious... gee some people have nothing better to do with their time! Hey I am one of those soccer mums too - bring it on baby LOL.
I will definitely NOT be watching that one! Thanks for the heads up on the crazy sex scene. Horror films aren't my "cup o' tea" anyway but throw in a scene involving a man and a half animal and you've lost me completely. Just ignore the weird commentors...theres a lot of them out there. I had to start moderating my comments a few days ago b/c I was tired of deleting stuff...mostly other languages that I can't even read...or sometimes strange random comments that have nothing to do w/ my post. I hate those. Anyway, thanks for stopping by my blog and for all the nice comments you leave! Enjoy having a week w/o kids as much as possible even if you are in a cast.

I have not seen the movie (and don't plan on it) but what I can say, is that I love your blog for your honesty - keep telling it like it is!

Meg,
I didn't know of the movie until reading this post and although I am no 'soccer mom' I have no desire to see it. I appreciate your review! Who likes wasting time and money? One point, you don't have to be a man to "get your jollies off on beastiality."
Your Friend,
Deborah
