"Tardy for the Party"!

Serenity Now!

Boy, I hate to be late to a Party, whew, so glad I made it! When I read about this idea from Amanda I thought it was so fantastic, I knew I needed to be a part of it! What a great way to meet new bloggers and pick up a few fans on the way!

Well, my name is Megan and here are a few things about me....

~How long have you been blogging?

I just started blogging this past November!

~Why did you start blogging?

I had been a Blog stalker for so long but never followed any. I enjoyed reading about different women's lives and what was interesting to them and I said to myself, "What am I doing here, I can talk and type like the next gal and boy do I have lots to say! With a lot of encouragement from my sister Amy, I said, "I'm doing it, I'm starting my own blog!" And so the next day I did it!

~Tell me about your blog's title. Why did you choose it?

My Blog is called 1funkywoman. I chose this name because, honestly, that's what I like to think of myself as! I've always liked funky, colorful, things like the painted door in my header. How many of you ladies have a painted door with a lady on it, in your dining room? I like color in my home. I have 2 purple walls, 1 above my fireplace and the other at the top of my stairs with black floating shelves and black and white photos. I love big rings, bright nail polish and I cannot go anywhere without lipstick/lip gloss! My husband calls me the "hat lady" because I wear them all the time and I have a million different scarves. I have been every hair color under the sun, notice the red hair and to me paint and hair color are in the same category. If you don't like it just color it again! I love to set my own trends with things. For instance, I hate my legs and won't wear shorts, ever. I cuff my jeans and add vintage pins at the cuffs. I wear purple a ton and change my purse every other week. So I guess that is why I'm called 1funkywoman!

~What do you blog about?

Wow, I blog about anything and everything. Sometimes I push the boundaries a little and might be a little offensive at times. I do write about my kids and how weird they are, lol! I will write about decorating, a book I'm reading, or even someone that is driving me crazy that day. For me nothings off limits!

~What is your favorite thing about blogging?

Easy, its the women. No, not easy women, lol! I'd have to say I am in awe of how amazing and real some of these women in blog land are! I can truly call some of them, my friends! I have never enjoyed writing. I have received so many journals as gifts but I always had doubts of putting my thoughts down on paper. Blogging has opened up a door that I thought was locked forever and has let me be free to be me!

~If you had to choose one famous person to become your blog's next devoted reader, who would you pick?
I'm sure I could write a book on famous people that I love and admire. So, for me to pick one I think it would have to be...
Iris Apfel, fashion darling. She is 88 and amazing! I would be thrilled and honored if she could be my next devoted reader!
Hmmmm....wait a minute, why wouldn't she want to be a devoted reader, my blog is fabulous, lol!

I love her and can't wait to look that great at 88!

Thank you to Jeanne http://collageoflife-henrqs.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2010-03-31T10%3A30%3A00%2B01%3A00&max-results=5 for introducing her to me!

~What's the funniest comment you've ever received on a blog post?

There are so many hilarious women that I have encountered but I guess one of the funniest things would have to be from
Janean from http://oldsweetwatercottage.blogspot.com/
in reference to my post on....

http://1funkywoman.blogspot.com/2010/03/underwire-bras-around-world.html she wrote:

maybe put a *children* and *husband* warning?

yikes, I'll never touch another fence again...LOL.

I think it made me laugh thinking of her touching the fence and what might happen next!

Ok, ladies, now go over to Amanda's and join in on the fun, and meet some amazing bloggers!

Hi, Megan! I love meeting fun, funky bloggers. ;) I used to stalk blogs too, haha...then I decided it was just as fun to write as to read. Thanks so much for linking up, and I hope you're having fun partying. ;)

As I was reading this I thought to myself. We should be friends. My living room walls are about the same color green as your background. I have had numerous hair colors too. Including blue :)
