Use what you have decorating....Claire's Room!

Claire has taken up decorating. She asked if we could move her bed to a different wall and a semi transformation began. I wish I could say I took before pictures but that would have been the smart Megan and the space cadet Megan usually prevails.

I had her bed coming out from the window, but there just wasn't enough floor space. She definitely has an opinion on where things should go. We had fun moving things around! And now she has a lot of room to play and dance.

When Claire was just a week old, I had a muralist come and paint her name on the wall. I found the idea from a magazine and we just tweaked it a little. We had her crib sitting under her name and it looked so cute. I'm not sure I like it just floating on the wall but she still loves it!

My husband put the shutters on both sides of her window. I love how it turned out. Kinda like the sign says.."Ooh La La"!

A friend painted this fairy. I got it even before we found out we were having a girl. I think in my heart I knew, so I just had to have it!

This was a garage sale table that I never got around to painting. I decided to take a tutu someone made for Claire's birthday and give the table a makeover!

This tree is up all year round in Claire's room. I find things to add to her girly tree all the time!

I think I mentioned this before but I love lamps! Claire has 3 in her room. Lamp lights are so much better than overheads!

Its amazing to me what things Claire likes to collect. There are 2 statues of the Virgin Mary that were my mother's that she insisted on having in her room. At least she has someone to watch over her at night. The collection of snow globes is actually a family tradition. Every time someone goes somewhere, you get a snow globe. She has some from San Francisco, Paris and even Dubai. My nieces (the picture in the frame) collect snow globes too. I have so much fun searching for snow globes at garage sales or the good will. The hard part is deciding which lucky girl will get it. Of course, being the princess she is, Claire even has a Snow White, Barbie and Minnie Mouse snow globe.

This is her little reading nook. The doll house was a Craigslist find, gotta love Craigslist! It has several shelves full of books. I'm not sure why it wasn't in the picture but she has a huge FAO Schwartz frog she sits on when she reads. Claire is also a purse queen, like her mother I might add, lol. I'm not even sure where they all came from. She knows how many she has and if I move one or think to sneak it out to get rid of, she knows.

I used this chalkboard in the kitchen before I painted my cabinet. Claire asked if we could put it in her room. Can you tell she is so excited to have it in there? I still might add a ribbon and a fun knob from the top of the chalkboard.

The gal who painted Claire's name also painted flowers and butterflies!

Well, we have lots of playing to do! Hope you all enjoyed the tour, have a great Monday!

Hi Megan! How are you? Hope your week got off to a good start! I love the name Claire - so pretty! And what a lovely room for a little girl! I bet she loves it!

I got your note about the big green M, and wanted to let you know that I bought it at The Olde Shoe Factory Antique Mall in Lancaster, Ohio which is where my booth is! A vendor brought in about 40 of these great old metal letters! I think they sold out pretty fast!
