My Homage to Paris!
I love Paris, even though I've never been there. Why you might ask? Well, years ago I saw an Eiffel Tower statue at the Goodwill for $1.00. I thought ooh how cool and so cheap. I bought it not really knowing what I would do with it. I think I threw it in a drawer and forgot about it. I then discovered another statue at a garage sale and remembered I had another one at home. I decided that this might be something I would start collecting. I got lucky a couple of times at flea markets and garage sales. I am always amazed at what I can find in a box of junk. Ladies don't worry about getting your hands dirty, you never know what treasures you might find! My sister has been to Paris a couple of times and just recently spent the month of December over there. Some of you might remember my post about her. She has helped my collection grow a little. She brought back the snow globe and a statue. After my sister spent time over there she decided that we were going there for my 40th birthday, WhooHoo!!!!!!! (Remember exclamation points make me happy!) Sadly, this August I will only be 39. Did you ever hear of someone that was so bummed she wasn't turning 40? I think if you asked me when I was 30 how I felt about turning 40 someday, I'm pretty sure I would have snarled at you!
I have even started collecting Paris pins. I hung them on my Eiffel Tower lamp! My sister brought back the gold one on top!
So for now all I can do is research some places I can't wait for us to see and do lots of dreaming!
The Eiffel Tower, Paris

This is a no brainer, of course this will be the first stop. Notice the 2 people making out in front, they do say Paris is the city of Love!
Jardin du Luxembourg

In a word, Beautiful!
Arc de Triomphe de l'Etoile
http://www.discoverfrance.net/France/Paris/Monuments-Paris/Arc-CDG.shtml
One of the most famous monuments in Paris. The tomb of the unknown soldier from the First World War beneath the Arc. It also has the first eternal flame lit in Western and Eastern Europe since the Vestal Virgins' fire was extinguished in the year 394. It burns in memory of the dead who were never identified (now in both World Wars). The history and architecture, I'm just amazed.
Shops on Rue Montorgueil in Les Halles

There are so many unique shops in this area that I have already started my shopping fund jar!
Café Delmas (Le)

I love outdoor dining. Sitting there drinking and stuffing our faces and just watching people go by. I can't think of anything better!
I hope you enjoy all the pictures and now I'm going to go daydream, ahhhhhhh!

You know how much I adore that city! Less than five weeks before I head over!!!
You asked if the flowers in my most recent post are rings - they are! I actually bought the larger green one. Most of them were rings, the large white one was a hair band, and then she had some key chains as well. They are fabulous!
bon weekend a toi,
xx
