Ahhhhhhhh! She's digging for Gold!

Ok, so you might be thinking I'm talking about someone picking their nose, right? Wrong, I'm actually going to talk about Boobs! So last night we are sitting at the dinner table and we are all chatting about the day when, well, here goes the truth.

I dropped some food down my shirt! Lets just say it fell in my cleavage!

Well I dove right in to get it and that's when my son, James yells, "Ahhhhhh, she's digging for Gold! Mom stop that! My son is 10 and lately there has been some boobage on the minds of some fourth grade boys! Its no secret that I have some large girlfriends, I do! I try to run away from them but somehow they always seem to find me! My son freaks at the talk of boobs or the sight of them. No, I don't strut around in my birthday suit but if I stretch and I stick my arms up, then I guess my bresticles stick out! Well, James screams of course! And if I hug him he pushes me away and says, "Mom, your hmm, hmm's are in the way! I usually say, "Honey, they aren't going to attack you!"

Claire on the other hand loves to talk boobs! She hopes she has big boobs some day! I pray she does not but since she is related to me, I think it is inevitable! Thank the Lord I know a good doctor, lol! Then she can have them removed. She loves telling James that she is a girl and she gets to see mine whenever she wants to! James gets these really big eyes and says, "Ewwww, Mom, Claire doesn't need to see them, does she?"

As James and his dad proceeded to get ready for bed, Jim could tell something else was weighing on James' mind. He said, "What's up James?" James then asks his dad some rather personal questions. He asked if he had touched my breasts before. Thank God I was no where near that conversation. Jim believes in honesty and would rather have James know the truth about things then going and talking to his friends without knowing the facts. Oh God how I hope I don't come up as playground conversation today! Jim told him the truth and said, yes, that is what married people do. James of course made some awful groaning noises that I could hear from downstairs. I made no attempt to find out why he was making them and even hoped Jim wouldn't come and tell me! I wonder if he will remember this conversation some day and laugh at his reaction about boobs, because I'm sure he will have changed his mind about them, don't you?

I swear every day in my house is a test with these children. You have no idea what the discussion will be like from one moment to the next! Hmmm, I wonder what tonight's dinner conversation will be? Stayed tuned........

Look What I found in my Mailbox!

Some of you might remember me ranting some time ago about how much I dislike going to the mailbox, remember? Well, those of you who don't know me very well, let the ranting begin! I can't stand getting my mail. I avoid it at all cost. I have set up bill paying on line so I don't get bills in the mail, its all junk! I know some women in our neighborhood that meet at the mailbox daily and chat about who cares what, oops did I say that out loud? I just don't need to meet anyone everyday unless its over cocktails. Ok, I digress. Its not that I'm not friendly, its just that our mailbox is located down the street and around the corner so if I can help it, I only get the mail once a week and that's only if I remember. Today I thought it was about time to see what was in there. Look what I found.....

My 2 giveaways came today and I was so excited I squealed and did a little dance at the mailbox. One of the neighbors saw me and I'm sure she thought I was some crazy woman. Hey, if you send me a package you're gonna get a dance. So if anyone wants to send me something, I'll be sure to video tape it for you! Anyway the neighbor looked the other way before I could say hi. I'm sure, now she is happy she has the for sale sign on her lawn. Hmmmm, maybe I'm the reason the sign is there!

This is the beautiful pair of earrings I won from Pamela Susan. Please go and check out her other amazing things!

And this is the amazing Swarovski tanzanite necklace I won from Teresa at LemonDropz.ETSY

I am for sure going to be styling now!

As I sifted through all the JUNK mail I was happy to see a few magazines! Whooo, Hoooo, who doesn't like getting a few magazines to read? Well, what do you know, someone else sent me a present. Wow, is it my lucky day or what? I think I might have to buy a Lottery Ticket with all this luck!

My friend Mandi from Tidbits from the Tremaynes sent me a wonderful saying that I saw on her blog. There it is below her fab future projects board! Please stop what you are doing, ok wait until you finish reading my blog and head on over to Mandi's Blog. She is hysterical and I just adore her. I guarantee you will all become followers. Well I think all my whining, griping, moaning, sobbing, wailing and whimpering did the trick and she finally said, "Enough already, I'll send you the vinyl saying, if you leave me alone, promise?" Well, I never promised anything! She totally rocks!

And this is the one she cut out for Moi', I can't wait to find the perfect spot for it!

Well I'm exhausted from getting the mail, so I'm off to pour myself a cocktail! Enjoy your night!

My Weekend Project!

I would like to start by saying that if our patio table had not broken into a million pieces last summer, then I wouldn't even be doing this in the first place, but it did so I am. I found a patio set at a garage sale for a steal. I'm sure many of you are saying, "Well I hope she stole it instead of paying any money for it!" Well I didn't steal it and I didn't pay much for it either! I knew I had my work cut out for me so I jumped in head first. Let me just say that this was no easy task and there were plenty of expletives used that I was grateful there were no kids around to witness. Can someone remind me why I am doing this? I found a fun yellow that I thought might do the trick. Whew, 1 Table and 1 chair down, but 3 more to go. Oh why did I take this on?

So, what do you think of the color? I cannot take the credit for finding this yellow. I feel awful that I cannot think of the gal's blog who I got this from, so here is a shout out to her if she is reading this! Thank you for the color tip!

Now, before I tackle the rest of the crew, I need to know if I should continue? Our deck is a mess and we have no flowers yet. We usually don't go and get any until Mother's Day weekend, because when you live in Iowa there is still a chance of a frost for a couple more weeks! As I look at the rug I'm thinking it could use a makeover too! Has anyone ever spray painted a rug for outside? I might be thinking crazy here but I've got spray paint on the brain!

I know what you are all thinking, these cushions are so not me! I 100% agree on that, but we have had these for a couple summers and only used them for one season so they are in great shape. I think the colors would work with the yellow and sometimes you do have to use what you have. Come on, won't one of you agree with me on this one?

I also found this bench at a garage sale and thought I would give it a makeover. Should I paint it the same yellow?

My husband is planning on building a roof over the deck with some peaks so I can hang a candle chandelier, or either one of these from Pottery Barn ones would work, don't you think? For now I'm trying to get our seating area complete so when that sun does find us again, we can enjoy sitting out here!

I thought I would let you know, that I'm all ears when it comes to your suggestions, observations, interpretations, explanations, commentary, criticisms, judgments, critiques, analysis and remarks!

Trampoline Fun!

Oh to be a kid again! This is what my kids and their friend Tommy enjoy doing on most weekends! They try to see who can jump the highest or fly the farthest. I love how Claire's hair gets so staticy. I on the other hand am trying to spray paint a patio table and chairs and doing a lot of cursing at the same time. Thank goodness all the kids are in the backyard! I am always up for a challenge but I think my table and chairs are winning this one! I am pretty sure all I am achieving is calloused hands and less hair on my head then I started. I'd love to say you will see the end product but I am getting so close to throwing in the towel and tossing it all to the curb and then heading out for Margaritas or maybe even a few daiquiris. I guess if that happens I will have to start going to garage sales or shopping Craigslist for a patio set. Now, its not that this a bad alternative but I was just hopping a few cans of spray paint would work their magic. Well, I sure hope you are all having a splendid weekend!

Rain... Rain...

Rain rain go away,
Come again another day.
Little Johnny wants to play;
Rain, rain, go to Spain,
Never show your face again!

Here is some interesting history about this nursery rhyme that many might not know:

The history and origins of the lyrics to this English nursery rhyme date back to the reign of Elizabeth I, one of the Tudor monarchs. During this period of English history there was constant rivalry with Spain culminating in the Spanish Armada consisting of many Spanish galleons being sent to attack England. This attempt failed, not only because of the swift nature of the smaller English ships but also by the stormy weather which scattered the Armada fleet. Hence the origins of the Nursery rhyme!

This was never a favorite nursery rhyme as a kid, because I've always liked rain. I remember as a kid singing it but when the part came to say "go away, come again another day", I told the rain it could stay as long as it wanted. In fact when it starts to rain now, I get giddy just like a kid. I even find myself humming this song and still asking it to stay! So today two of my friends went out to play and jumped in a few puddles!

So, who else likes rainy days like me?

Blog Game!

Happy Hump Day everyone! I'd like to take a moment here and pat myself on the back. I finally got off my badonkadonk and took a long walk this morning. Exercise was my New Year's resolution and yes I'm a little embarrassed to say, it has taken me this long to get up and really do something about it. Hey, April 21 is not that far from the beginning of the New Year you know! I think I'm off to a good start and I feel great. Now I'll let you know in the morning how I really feel! Now on to my real post, the "Blog Game!"

I was tagged by Jamilyn from Living It At Home who asked me to be part of a game called "6th Photo published on your blog". Well I am lucky that I didn't have to search very far for my 6th pic, because I only started this blogging this past November! Jamilyn posted a picture of her dining room that was decorated for Halloween, which is funny because my 6th picture is of Halloween also!

I'm laughing as I read my first post, because all I did was post pictures. I didn't write a thing. I'm sure all of you who know me are shocked that one who normally rambles was speechless. Well, I had no idea what I was doing. I made the decision to start this blog but that was about it! I had been so good at stalking so many blogs that you would have thought I'd learned something. I was just thrilled I had figured out how to post pictures, writing something didn't even occur to me!

This is a picture of my living room all decorated for Halloween. I had taken this photo at the end of October and did my first post on November 9, 2009. I am know by everyone around here as "The Halloween Queen! It is my absolute favorite holiday and I go all out. I have every room decorated to the hilt. I like to start my decorating on August 20th, for two reasons. The first being it is my birthday and the second is that is usually the 1st day of school and the best birthday present a mother could get!

It seems to take a couple weeks to get it all out and decorated, so it usually stays up until November 1st. I was just a little late getting it packed away!

As I look at this picture I realize that I have rearranged the furniture 4 times since then and I can say I am quite happy with what it is today! Here are a few current pictures of my living room for your viewing pleasure!

Now comes the hard part. I need to tag 10 more bloggers to present their 6th photo. I feel that there are so many of you that deserve to be tagged, but since I can only pick 10, here they are .........

1. Tidbits from the Tremaynes

2. Fabulously French

3. From Here to There

4. Salvage Dior

5. Katrina Chambers

6. Dear Lilly

7. Sawdust and Paper Scraps

8. House of Smith's

9. Imperfectly Beautiful

10. Hope Studios

I can't wait to see some of your first pictures!

Things to do when.................

Have you ever been shopping in Walmart and realized that your significant other was taking his/her sweet time? Well, have I got a solution for you! Here are some things for you to accomplish while waiting for your loved one. Do one or do them all, you choose!

As the cashier runs your purchase over the scanner, look mesmerized and say, "Wow, magic!"

Ask other customers if they have any Grey Poupon.

Contaminate the entire auto department by sampling all the spray air fresheners.

Dart around suspiciously while humming the theme from Mission Impossible.

Drag a lounge chair over to the magazines and relax.

Go to the food court, buy a drink, tell them you don't get out much and ask if they can put a little umbrella in it.

Drape a blanket around your shoulders and run around saying, "I'm Batman. Come Robin, to the Batcave."

Follow people through the aisles, staying about 5 feet behind them. Do this until they leave the store.

Get 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's carts when they aren't looking.

Go into a fitting room, shut the door and wait a while and then yell loudly "There's no toilet paper in here!"

Go to the Service Desk and ask to put a bag of M&M's on lay away.

Hide in a clothing rack and when people browse through, say "PICK ME! PICK ME!"

Hold indoor shopping cart races.

In the auto department, practice your "Madonna look" using different size funnels.

Leave Cheerios in lawn and garden, pillows in the pet section, etc.

Look right into the security camera, use it as a mirror and pick your nose.

Make a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the restrooms.

Make up nonsense products and ask employees if there are any in stock. (i.e.: Shnerples)

Move "Caution: Wet Floor" signs to carpeted areas.

Pay off layaways 50 cents at a time.

Play with the calculators so that they all spell "hello" upside down.

Randomly throw things over into neighboring aisles.

"Re-alphabetize" the CD's.

Re-dress the mannequins as you see fit.

Relax in the patio furniture until you get kicked out.

Ride a display bicycle through the store; claim you are taking it for a test drive.

Ride those little electronic cars at the front of the store.

Say things like, "Would you be so kind as to direct me to your Twinkies."

Set all the alarm clocks to go off at ten-minute intervals throughout the day.

Set up a "Valet Parking" sign in front of the store.

Set up a tent in the camping department and tell other shoppers you'll invite them in if they bring pillows from the bed department.

Take shopping carts for the express purpose of filling them and leaving them in strategic locations.

Take up an entire aisle in toys by setting up a full-scale battle with G.I. Joe vs. X-men.

Test the brushes and combs in cosmetics.

Test the fishing rods and see what you can catch from other aisles.

TP as much of the store as possible before they stop you.

Try to hold up customers with the toy guns. See how much you can make.

Tune all the radios to polka stations; then turn them off and turn the volume up to full blast.

Walk up to an employee and tell him/her in an official tone, 'Code 3' in Housewares and see what happens.

When 2 or 3 people are walking ahead of you, run between them yelling "Red Rover."

When a clerk asks if they can help you, begin to cry and ask, "Why can't you people just leave me alone?"

Walk up to complete strangers and say, "Hi. I haven't seen you in so long." etc. See if they play along.

When an announcement comes over the loud speaker, assume the fetal position and scream "NO! NO! It's those voices again!!!"

When someone steps away from his or her cart to look at something, quickly make off with it without saying a word.

While handling guns in the hunting department, ask the clerk if he knows where the anti-depressants are.

While walking through the clothing department, ask yourself loud enough for all to hear, "Who buys this crap anyway?!"

Hmmmm, which one will I choose? Wait, maybe I've already done some of these, Mwhaaaaaaa!

I'm on strike!

I'm finished, paid the piper, jogged my last mile, crossed the finish, performed, waxed off, accomplished, nailed the coffin, played out, vidi, and vici! I told my family no more. I was done with doing laundry and that they were not allowed to wear any more clothes! Yep, you heard right! I told them they had to walk around naked from now on because I am sick and tired of always living in the laundry room! I cannot believe how the laundry seems to grow right before my eyes. Just when I think I've made a dent and I can almost see the bottom of the basket, out of no where comes this huge laundry dragon with his fierce red eyes and spitting fire at me!

Claire changes her clothes every time she goes to the bathroom and not because she has an accident! She just gets tired of her outfit. You might think I could just toss it back into the drawer right? Of course not, she has managed to get God knows what on it and into the laundry basket she puts it! I have to say, at least she's got that part down. When James heard me say he had to walk around the house naked he turned absolutely white as a ghost. He looked at Jim and said, "Dad, is she really serious, I can't!" I of course being in my new home, the laundry room, let out a guttural laugh at which point he became even more terrified! I think he was freaked at the thought of seeing his mother naked like the day she was born! But hey, that would scare even a blind person! I am just so tired of being the only one who knows how to do laundry around here! I said hey, "If you want clean clothes you need to figure out how to wash them!

So do you think I was a little harsh or right on the money with this one?

Well, don't tell my family but I guess I will go hang out in my little home today and fight off that mean old dragon!

I have 101 people to thank!

Plus

I cannot believe it, I have 101 followers! I mean, you like me, you really like me! When I started my blog in November I wasn't doing this for followers. I was doing it just to get myself to write and I thought that if anyone thought what I was saying was worth a comment, that was just the icing on the cake!

You have all put a smile on my face and I am so touched by that. I appreciate all of you more than you know! Now, how about a group hug?
