I decided to rip down the curtain treatment that has been in my Living Room for more years than I'd like to admit. The top part is what came with the house and I added the hanging fabric. I guess it was a homemade cornice board with fabric stapled. I looked at this wall the other day and said, "What they hell are those awful things?" You would think I had just walked into this house for the first time and just discovered how truly heinous they were!
Here are some before pics!
A different angle!
These are the curtains from my Dining Room that are now in the Living Room!
Ideally I would have hung the rod higher but because of the way the wall and studs are located my husband said I only got one shot. It works and opens up the window. In the Dining Room I am working on my first sewing project since 9th grade. Crazy to take something like that on since I have no idea what I'm doing.
Now I'm certainly not one to have everything matching or spend a lot. So I'm ok with the pillows and that lamp is truly one of my favorites!

The new/old curtains look great in your living room.
I'm sorry, did you say you are going to sew? LOL
Good for you! Why wait for your sister when I KNOW that you are perfectly capable. Be sure to show us what you sew.
Hi Meg
Great job on the switch. I love it when we can breathe life into something new. Hope you and yours are doing well. Really a great job and bravo on the sewing project. xoxo Kate
Way better.
Everything doesnt have to be matchy matchy. It looks great.
I find curtains still in the new package at the Goodwill near my house. They get Target returns or overstock so I always look at the housewares when I go in there.
I enjoy the music on your blog.
I have given you the Kreativ Blogger Award!

The living room looks much better with out that pelmet thingie-me-bob. And alot brighter too.
I love the colour of the walls in the dining room. What colour is the fabric you're sewing? Good luck with that by the way hehehe.
Simple little changes are the best! I wanted to thank you for stopping by Emily A Clark's blog today and leaving a comment about my chair project. It was so nice of her to allow me to write about it. Thanks!
Love it!! I detest all of the draperies-if you can call them that-from 1971 in my new home...yikes!! Thanks for showing me that change will come=)
HOllie
The curtains look perfect and you are way too cool to have things all matchy matchy.
Love the use of the word heinous. I forget about that word. So descriptive. :)
