First off, I'd like to report I did survive Monday's field trip but barely. I swear, I want to be on whatever my son's teacher is on because she just skates through her day without a care in the world. And when I say without a care, thank God there were 7 parents keeping track of all the kids because she just assumed the kids were behind her at all times.
The Trekkie show was painful and I'm still not sure what lesson the kids were to get out of that. I cringed and had to slouch down in my seat when they approached my aisle for volunteers to board their space ship. No way was I getting on that stage and acting all Vulcan!
At the end of the day because it was a long day. 8:30 ~ 3:30 to be exact the teacher boarded the bus and turned to thank us before we walked off to our car. Hell yes we drove (another mother and I) No way were we going to travel on that crazy bus with 11 year old boys and girls and all that noise.
Anyway she said, "I think the day went very well and all the kids enjoyed themselves, did you?
I said to her, "Well, I can definitely say, this was an experience I will never forget, that's for sure!" My friend who was with me practically chocked on her spit!
As much as it pains me to do this again, I feel that for the safety of the children, and because I feel its important to know what the kids are being "taught", I will do it again! I'm thinking we parents need to be paid to go on these things or at least a free beer card after its over, lol!
OK, so here's where the tears start to flow in your coffee!
Have you ever just needed a good cry? Well let me tell you this is a doozy! I can barely see while I type this, my eyes are so swollen from all the tears I've shed!

I am on the verge of a mental breakdown as it is so I am not going to attempt to watch the video. :(
My boxer friends on Facebook have been swamping me with videos of abused dogs and I dont think I can take anymore emotional stuff today. :)

Oh my gosh....I have watched this before but could not help but watch it again.....I think I may have used half a box of tissues!! I love it!! I may have to share this on my blog!
I also wanted to tell you....the show is called Coming Home I think....not sure what channel it is on but it is a must see if you like this video!!!
So glad you made it through the Trekkie ordeal. Whew! And find out what the teacher was on... I will bet there are a number of us who are interested in that info ;-)
Oh my ..... just aswell I work with a bunch of guys...they automatically think that all us woman do is cry !!!

Hi! I have way too much to do today to start off with a ugly cry...so I will come bcak to watch the reunion later. I really do love these typs of things. My friends husband will be home in 73 days....they have 5 children. Can't imagine the sacrifice.
Also...yay for the fun field trip! I am going on an overnight field trip to Williamsburg, VA. with my son's fifth grade class next week...yikes. I am actually looking forward to for some reason.

I always like the *idea* of going on these trips, but sometimes, I really question how these teachers manage to get themselves to go back to school everyday!!

Nope I'm like you, definitely not a 'Trekkie' or anything remotely like one LOL.
I forgot to tell ya....the Book Chat ladies are all keen to go see Water For Elephants at the movies in May...YAY (apparently they just don't ever check our blog - mind you thats what I'd been telling myself to take the sting out of it LOL :-)
Ah girl. Don't do that to me. My husband walked by and wondered who had died or what kid had brought me to tears this time. :)
As for your field trip... well there are some benefits of getting older. Unless I have grandchildren some day I think I have been on my last one. :) You DO learn to drive your own car though don't you? I laughed out loud when I read that line. I have SO been there. :) Hugs to you for taking another bullet for the team.
