I saw this saying on an Etsy site called dazeychic and it pretty much describes my mood yesterday and even today!
I found the best Craigslist buy and I'm in Heaven! Look at this beauty that I got for $115.00!
The detail is amazing!
And look at all those drawers!
The listing was described as a ladies vanity, but I think you could almost use it as a writing table!

I need to recover the stool but not sure of what fabric! How fun is that gold detail on the legs?
Right now it is sitting in my bedroom tucked by the window. It really doesn't go with anything in here. I think I must be trying to live out some fantasy of wanting a vanity as a young girl. So for now it's mine and eventually when Claire gets older I'm sure she will take it over as her vanity. I'm just not feeling she is old enough for it at the moment! I have this fear of spilled nail polish across the top, eeek!

That is so pretty. You didn't mention the price, but I bet it was good. If it doesn't go now, you can always paint it and repaint it for Claire when she is ready for it.

You should be as happy as a bird! The designer in me says to spray paint the existing hardware for a modern, dramatic update, and really bold fabric on the seat will keep it from seeming too precious. I love that you are already thinking of how Claire will use it!

I have the exact same vanity as that, except it's in dark cherry wood. My husband bought it for me for Valentine's one year. The only thing different is my middle drawer doesn't open like yours. That's so pretty, and I love the chair that goes with it. There's just something about having your own vanity. I think I always wanted one as a young girl like you said.

Love it. What a perfect space ;) I had to laugh at the sign. When I was young I was attacked by a bunch of birds at the fair when I purchased some French fries. Stupid seagulls.
