Please, Don't Text while Driving!

I know most of the blogs that you see are about decorating or funny things our children do, but sometimes REAL life has to be mentioned. This is very graphic so please don't have small children around! I saw this last night and although I do not text and drive I have been known to talk on the phone. I vowed after watching this to never talk on the phone while driving again. I think even though this is graphic, teenagers and adults should both see this because it can really leave an impact! I am still shaking from seeing this. How many times have you turned to the car next to you and seen someone texting? I have, and it make me angry. This is my road too! My children are traveling with me. What gives you the right to drive a car and text at the same time? I was driving on the highway the other day, and a guy to the left of me seemed a little goofy and not in his lane, well what do you know, he was texting. Are you kidding me? There was a semi in front of you! What if that semi stopped suddenly? GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Please everyone, don't ignore this! I feel very passionate about having this seen and hope that you do see this or pass it on to someone that could benefit from this! Now, I'm taking a gamble that this doesn't change your opinion of me or have you walk away from me! Thanks for listening!

I am putting a silly cartoon picture so it pops up on your screen first!

Wow. That was horrible. So scary and true and I feel a bit sick and sobered right now ;(. Good reminder.

There was a horrible accident in our valley this week-- it involved texting. The texter died, and the person she hit is very, very hurt.

This gave me chills. I pledge not to do this. And I sure hope others will wake up and pay attention to the road and nothing else.

Hope you and your fam have a great weekend.

Thanks for visiting today :)

I saw Oprah do a show on texting and driving and have been really aware of it ever since. I hope this post makes us all think twice.

I saw a snippet of the Oprah show and I can't watch that video. I see people texting and driving almost every day. They're the ones swerving all over the road in front or behind... I can't believe they do it. I make my boys sit in complete silence when we are in heavy traffic... "all eyes on the road, even you lads in the back" I say. A-M xx

I think they should run this as a commercial regularly!! I don't have a cell and enjoy peaceful drives without their constant interruption. Great blog today!! Thanks for visiting me.... Have a great weekend... Susan :)

Hi Megan
Well texting or talking on mobiles whilst driving is illegal here. But as A-M said.. they still do it... You know I have no idea how ppl 'think' they can manage it.. especially if driving manual!

The video is horrific .. but perhaps that is what ppl [teenagers] need to see to wake them up!.. We had a series of quite graphic advertisements here on tv to do the same thing.. some even showed footage at actual accident scenes.. I'm all for it if it saves lives.. Great post.. xx Julie

I saw this on Facebook this week and it was chilling. They should absolutely make this required viewing for all teenagers getting their license.

This is a subject I feel really strongly about. It's shocking but if it saves lives then it's worth it. I'm going to post this on my Facebook. I don't know why people think they have the right to put other peoples lives at risk by driving dangerously. Thanks for posting.
