and her topiaries that I knew I needed to try my hand with some. So, what do you think of my interpretation?
I started off doing the polka dots and black stripes and it just didn't seem finished. My husband suggested using silver paint to make then stand out. So, I took metallic silver paint and added silver stripes and outlined the polka dots with silver and added a few silver dots. I think that is what they needed. Thank you honey! For the first smaller pumpkin I took stickers of bats and then spray painted the pumpkin black. I then took the stickers off and used a metallic pen and colored in the bats silver. For the other small pumpkin I put spider stickers and traced them then colored in the spiders black and outlined them in silver.
I found 2 green Christmas garlands at a garage sale and decided to paint them black and then I added some purple lights to them. I'll have to get a picture at night for you!
This wonderful window screen was found at a garage sale and I thought the wall could use a happy face to greet my visitors!
This silly guy on my door was done by an artist in Des Moines named Peri of Out of my Mind Designs!
I painted those pumpkins you see black and added some orange striped bows. So there is my festive front porch to greet all the Trick or Treaters come Halloween night. Actually we are having our Beggars Night on Friday the 29th. Isn't that crazy? The city changed it because it is ISU homecoming and they didn't want kids out while the football game was going on! Please tell me we aren't the only city that changes the rules for Halloween?
Oh well, it is still my favorite holiday! Can you tell?
Happy Sunday to you all! Now off to get ready for my son's football game and prep my yelling voice!
Love the decorations.
