Super Bowl...I just don't get into it!

I truly have no desire to see the Super Bowl! I couldn't even tell you what two teams are playing, I swear. If my son hadn't reminded me that today was the day it would have just passed me by without even a thought!

Yup really! I kind of forgot today was the infamous Sunday that everyone has been waiting for...except of course me! I really don't see what all the craziness is about! I know that most people would say it's the commericals but even those do nothing for me, really! My life will still continue to go on even if I don't see the latest beer, Doritos, or car commercial. I did hear that Madonna was performing at half time and even that doesn't make me want to go running to the television! I laugh because even if I truly wanted to see any of it we don't have cable or an antenna so we couldn't watch it anyway.

I kind of look at the whole super bowl craziness like Maxine!

So whoever is out there getting ready to watch the big game and stuff their faces with all those rich carb laden treats, I say enjoy, truly! I myself will enjoy a board game with Claire.

She is like her momma and says, "Super Bowl, yuck!" The boys went to a friends house so need to feel sorry for them, they will be enjoying the game with the masses!

Oh, I love me some Target!

Who doesn't love Target? I mean really, is it just me? There is just something about seeing Red that makes me Happy! My poor friend is moving to a new town and I am so sad for her because there is no Target close by. I couldn't move then. Really, I'd be like bye bye honey! My prerequisite for moving to a new city is there must be a Target.

Sorry, but Wally World just doesn't cut it for me!

I'm so excited to finally be meeting this little guy! He is my new nephew Wyatt. So do you think he looks like his dad or what? Claire and I are jumping in the car and driving a couple of hours to hold and squeeze him. I don't know who's more excited but we can't wait to leave. Packing up the car and hitting the road. Jolly Old Saint Nicholas!

I heart Santa! I always have! So here are some of my many Santas and some other fun things around the house!

Santa and gingerbread mugs always available for when hot cocoa is a must!

Snowman tree, thought it would bring on the snow but no, none! Doesn't feel like Christmas without it!

Here is a vintage Santa suit I put on my mom's mannequin in the Living Room! I have a vintage hat to go along with it but I liked my silly whimsical one on top!

I love these pictures. I got them from an antique store. They aren't needlepoint but some embroidery technique.

The bottom one says:

In our basement there isn't a shortage of Santas that's for sure. The large Santa lights up!

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care....in our case, they were hung on a ladder with ease!

Who needs a star on the top when you have a top hat!

Since my hubby didn't want me to "touch" his baby I got as close as I could with a big bow tucked under his neck and little Santa hats on the deer statues!

Well she is Amazing with a capital "A"! She is so talented and quite frankly my idol! I recently bought myself an early Christmas gift that I had been searching for, for quite some time. I was tempted to make one but time stopped me from doing so. I happened to peruse the Internet and decided to check out
Debbie's shop and lo and behold, to what do my wandering eyes did appear...... but this magnificent subway roll with my favorite obsession...Paris and some of it's famous attractions scrolled all over it!!

I think I hung it in several spots around the house but was never completely satisfied. Then one day it hit me like a mack truck!
I had the perfect wall in my bedroom. It's like it was made for this exact piece! I just knew it would fit wonderfully!

Ok, isn't it fantastic? This was before I decorated for Christmas.

And now with a little twinkle and color!

Claire saw me snapping pictures and just had to get in on the action! She recently started taking piano lessons and had just learned "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas"!

I'm pretty sure I've never done a post on our bedroom so welcome!

I love our bed except when I was pregnant! It was so hard to climb up into it! I still don't know how I did it!

I have a thing for religious statues! My mother gave me my first Virgin Mary when I was 16 and the others I've found at garage sales and antique stores. I've never spent more than $8 on any of them.

I wonder if my collecting them will help me get into those pearly gates?

Well, I'm at least hoping my Mother is putting in a good word for me!

holster for it that very evening. Obviously you agree that it is a very
intimidating weapon when pointed at your head

mug us again].

explained the entire episode of what you’d done. Then I went and filled up
my gas tank as well as those of four other people in the gas station,—on
your credit card. The guy with the big motor home took 153 gallons and was
extremely grateful!

I gave your shoes to a homeless guy outside Vinnie Van Go Go’s, along with
all the cash in your wallet. [That made his day!]

I then threw your wallet into the big pink “pimp mobile” that was parked at
the curb …. after I broke the windshield and side window and keyed the
entire driver’s side of the car.

Later, I called a bunch of phone sex numbers from your cell phone. Ma Bell
just now shut down the line, although I only used the phone for a little
over a day now, so what ’s going on with that? Earlier, I managed to get in
two threatening phone calls to the DA’s office and one to the FBI, while
mentioning President Obama as my possible target.

The FBI guy seemed really intense and we had a nice long chat (I guess while
he traced your number etc.).

In a way, perhaps I should apologize for not killing you … but I feel
this type of retribution is a far more appropriate punishment for your
threatened crime. I wish you well as you try to sort through some of these
rather immediate pressing issues, and can only hope that you have the
opportunity to reflect upon, and perhaps reconsider, the career path you’ve
chosen to pursue in life. Remember, next time you might not be so lucky.

Holiday Mantle!

I thought I would show you a few pics of my mantle from previous years and then show you my mantle today!

This was from 2 years ago. Pretty traditional with the reds and greens! Check out my gals apron! Naughty or Nice? You'll never know, lol!

This was last year's mantle. I was going for a mostly all white theme, but had to throw in a little color for some pop!

And this is my mantle this year! I found the Joy banner at the GW, brand new in box for $1.99. The blue curly Q's were from the Hobby Lobster at half off so I swiped them all up!

The wreath I just whipped up with some fluffy yarn wrapped a bazillion times around a straw wreath form. Then I added some felt flowers!

Threw in some mercury trees I had for some sparkle and there you have it! A pretty simple fun Holiday Mantle!

I've been collecting globes for quite a while now and thought I would use them in my Christmas display! Here is my take on "Peace on Earth!" The three peace signs are ornaments I purchased last year from Pottery Barn.

Do you see our ELF Zeke ? He's hanging in the sleigh. I get the feeling he is going to be a camera snob this season!

Another elf favorite is the red guy! I found him at an antique store for $3.00. Now this guy my kids don't like. They say he has an almost gremlin look to him. Hmmm, it must be the ears. I guess that's why I like him!

I have also been collecting religious figures for a while and this Virgin Mary and Jesus planter are from a consignment store for $5.00!

This one is from a wonderful vintage shop I frequent and she was only $4.00! Sorry she is so blurry!

Vintage Santa and reindeer were from an antique store.

One of my favorite movies is "Elf" I swear my whole family could quote that movie and we often do. Here is a favorite!

Well, we're getting into the Holiday Spirit over here. After all our last name is famous at this time of year. You know the song 12 days of Christmas well we are the Partridge's in a Pear Tree!

I found these silly elf carolers at a little vintage shop for about $3.00. My kids are kinda creeped out by my little elves. They think the eyes are scary! I say the creepier the face the cuter they are!

This little blue guy is my absolute favorite! I love his face! Can you see who's peeking in over at the right? Yup that's our elf on the Shelf Zeke. He just flew in this morning! Claire was so excited she thought he needed to join the other elves!

This is puddin head the angel. I thought he needed to watch over the other elves and make sure they stayed out of trouble! Everyone needs an angel to watch over them!

Lots more decorating to show you, I'm on a roll here! October and November were crazy times over here. I feel like the Tasmanian devil with how much I've been coming and going! I kinda look like him lately too! I'm back though and excited to show you all some fun things around the Peartree!

It's time to introduce you to...........

My permanent house-guests! So you might remember me telling you about my husband's trip to Africa a couple years ago. Well, he brought a couple of stragglers with him and to my chagrin, they are here to stay!

If I had to pick a favorite in the whole bunch, because yes there are a whole bunch here folks. I guess this one would be mine. The colors are very pretty and well, if I have to have one hanging above the mantle this guy will do!

This fella is ginormous (quoting my daughter here)! He is currently hanging in the basement. I just don't think he can stay there though.
I mean, Yes, he will stay in the basement because, Hell no is he going up to the main floor. He just sticks out too far. I'm afraid he is going to knock someone out soon and I'm worried that someone will be me!

Now this one is up in my husband's den. It seems to fit the wall quite nicely.

This one is on the opposite side. Please ignore the wall, I ran out of paint to finish and we needed to get this creature up on the wall!

This guy believe it or not has a mate on the other side of the room. My husband and son went Boar hunting in Michigan last spring and these are what they brought back, yippee me! I think these are some of the ugliest creatures around!

This is Jacque and his friend (can't remember what my husband named it, because yes he named them all) is below! Guess where they are? You won't believe it but they are hanging in my Dining Room. I know, like WTFraggelrock? I had two sconces up and when Jim brought these creatures in he just marched right in there, took the sconces down and voila, my dining room is no longer pretty!

Can someone just shoot me and fast?

So there you have it folks. My house is infested and no exterminator can ever help get rid of them! Honey, at least let me put some Santa hats on these guys, please?

More Halloween Decorating!

I thought I would Halloweenerize my black and white picture wall for the big day!

All I did was purchase different sized googly eyes and mini glue dots and went to town adding eyeballs to my pictures. I wasn't' sure about adding them to my mom's photos but I'm glad I did. I wonder what she's thinking as she looks down from above? I"d like to think they are all chuckling upstairs!

I then went to the wonderful Graphics Fairy site and found some vintage skeletons and bats and printed them off and added them to frames. Of course my daughter insisted they all get their own googly eyes so I let her do that!

In the first picture you might notice a collage of baby pics. I thought it would be cute to add eyes to the cute naked baby. Boy was I wrong about that one! Claire took one look at that and she freaked. I couldn't get that dam picture down fast enough for her. I was really surprised she got so upset. I then added that creepy guy at the top instead. It works! Don't tell Claire but I think I like him more. His eyes light up! Hell, who would have thought my pink haired, usually sporting two crooked pony tails and mismatched clothes would be so sensitive!

Throw in a black feather wreath and a glitter skull (eyes of course) and Voila!

And there you have an easy and quick fix to add Halloween to your family photos!

I thought I would give a little Halloween touch up to a rather interesting picture. My husband on the other hand doesn't find it interesting or unique. No, he Hates this picture with a capital "H"!

I'm not exactly sure why I'm drawn to portraits, but this one in particular just spoke to me. I guess its because I wonder who the portrait is of. What is the story behind that person being painted? Is it a picture of the artist's mother or is she painting a self portrait? Well, to get my husband to shut up about it and stop begging me to take it down, I thought I'd give it some Halloween flair!

Gertie is a little on the jealous side. Gunther, her ex is inside and apparently she isn't leaving until she gets in!

I'd say by the looks of it, Gunther doesn't mind a bit that she's outside waiting! In fact, I'd say he's down right giddy!

Poor Gertie, I think she took the break-up pretty hard. I thought I'd at least give her a bench and some comfy pillows to sit on. I can't even imagine how uncomfortable it is to sit down when you're all bones!

I sure hope there aren't any single gals in there. Who knows what Gertie will do! Uh, Oh! I think I'd watch my back if I were you Gunther!

At least she has a couple of crows to keep her entertained!

I just got an I-phone and I swear the things I've texted could go down in history as pretty obscene, but oh so innocent. Glad most of the doozies went to my husband and he has forgiven me.

Now that doesn't mean I will ever live them down mind you.

Upon hearing my mishaps with auto-correct, a friend emailed me some hilarious mix-ups that she came across! I have been ROFL this morning and thought I should share!

Yipee, New Carpet!

I am woman hear me roar! I'm sure it was the 3 cups of coffee and the notion of having fresh carpet that has been un-chewed by my dog, that helped get me to move all the furniture in one fell swoop!

My husband was out of town and I guess I was too cheap to pay "Men" to move it so I went to town!

It's so nice to see it all cleared out until you turn around and see that the kitchen basically threw up on itself!

Despite my broken back and the minor injury I endured while tackling this (sympathy please), it was all worth it!

Lying down on the job, what's up with that? Apparently he needed to do a little texting!

Funny how when my husband finally got home he looked at the carpet and said, "Are you sure its new carpet, it looks the same!" Buddy what did you think, you were there when we picked out this color. Sure its neutral and close to the color of the last one but so much softer. Oh, and no hole in the middle of the room or the edges ripped up. And really buddy, thanks for commenting on the fact that I moved all the furniture. I guess he must have thought it was all going to levitate while they switched the old for the new?

I decided to flip the Living room this time. So instead of the couch coming out from the window, I have it coming out from the wall and facing the t.v. Not that it really matters, we canceled cable and are really loving it! The kids can still put in a movie but they don't seem to ask as much! Love it! So what do you think of the arrangement?

Still tweaking the details and not sure of that lamp on the table. I think for now I'm going to go and lie down on my new unscathed carpet. Of course it can't be for long, since I need to start getting all my Halloween out.

After all, I am the Queen of Halloween!

Oh the Places She'll Go!

My daughter, she sure has spunk and determination! We've always said, she dances to her own beat! Hmmm, I wonder where she gets that from? And no, not my husband. I really think she'll go far in life but she does make me nervous at times and her brother mortified.

She decided on Sunday that she needed to make some money. She said, "Mom, Dad, I'm good at a lot of things, and I think I want to try selling some of those things!" I know my husband cringed at the same time I did. As parents (on the inside) you question where her head is going with this but also, we want her to know we think she is talented and don't want to stifle any of her confidence. So we gave her the ok and she decided to set up her art shop right in front of the house!

Now does this guy deserve Dad of the year or what? What a trooper and yes, her biggest fan that's for sure!

Look at that painful expression on my husband. It says, "Please tell me I'm done out here....Please?"

I had to bribe my son and his buddy to be nice and buy a piece from her. Not their money of course. I gave them each a dollar to make her day! I missed it, but a neighbor who was walking by stopped over and bought a piece. I think you can see by her huge smile that she is a happy camper!

She sure was happy at the end of her sale, because she was just shy of $5.00 richer! I could see the wheels spinning as to what she was going to come up with next!

Forward 2 days and she again had a wild hare to sell something else. So she set up shop out front but this time it wasn't art it was freeze pops! I let her drag her little table and chair out and told her to have fun and good luck!

I did a few things inside and then decided I should check on her. Well, she wasn't at her table. I double checked the back and inside to see if she had snuck in but no Claire.

I didn't worry because we know all the neighbors and everyone knows Claire. Well lets just speed this story along here. As I'm trying to get my son ready for football he starts getting so stressed out that someone has taken Claire that he can't even put his dam pants on. He begins to fall apart on the floor and said, "What if something happened and we never see her again? I can't go to football and concentrate. Oh gawd James are you crazy? We couldn't be that lucky! No I didn't say that. Ok maybe not out loud, honest!

I've said this and I'm afraid I'll be saying it a million more times.....James is a worry wart and freaks out about the craziest things and always at the worst times. He will even freak out about the tiniest red dot on his body. Once he gets an idea in his head, oh hell you'll never hear the end of it. He swears he's going to get the plague or Elephantitis some day!

What an overprotective big brother! Despite fighting like a zebra vs a crocodile, he would do anything for her.

I decided to leave my son in the puddle of his own tears and go find my street walker! I made the loop around the pond and found her a couple blocks away. When I pulled up to her she was carrying a basket and a huge grin on her face. I told her to get in right away. She was not happy to have her job cut short but knew the look on my face was not one to mess with.

We got home in time to take the sobbing mess to football, after I assured him that his sister was fine and of course had to promise him that she was never going to leave the house again, ever!

I must say, despite some painful moments with my emotional 11 year old, my little entrepreneur made $9.00 selling freeze pops. I of course had to call all the neighbors and find out how much I owed them for humoring my girl but wow! She knew she wanted to make money and that she did! Pretty good for 7 years old!

Hmmm, if she keeps this up we might be looking at early retirement!

I've been told that she'll be selling singing lessons next! Get ready neighborhood, are you in for a treat! Maybe I can send James somewhere so he doesn't get embarrassed or sit there watching her like a hawk so she doesn't scurry off!

40 and Fabulous!

I'm finally getting around to showing you some of our party pics from last weekend! I feel like I'm still recovering to be honest. Whew, what a whirlwind of weeks it took planning and preparing for this event that I'm still waiting for my much needed massage.

We had a fabulous time and I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. I'd say it was a huge success minus a few words with a couple of grown men who drank a little too much and wanted to relive their fraternity days.

I didn't start off wanting a Luau theme, it just kind of migrated towards that so it seemed very fitting to put myself as the dancing hula gal on the cake!

You can't have a cake without cupcakes, can you? HyVee did a great job!

Ha, actually I've never felt better! I had a personal goal to lose 50 by the time I turned 40 and I did it!

Yes, as of Wednesday I have lost 51.6 pounds and I feel great!

And isn't this collage amazing. A friend made it for my birthday! We were at school the other day for an ice cream social and she started snapping pictures. I thought I'd get in on the action with my best model poses and this is what she came up with!

We are all like busy working bees, hammering out the last minute details for our soiree this afternoon. My last count was 125 people coming! I think I've gone a little mad this week with getting everything done and have already booked my massage for Monday.

If it weren't 7:00 a.m. I'd say it was time for a cocktail at my ......

Well I better get busy, I just wanted to say hello out there and hope everyone's first day of school went off without a hitch!

New updates to my Mirror Wall!

Remember when I showed you Gus's mirror wall? Well I couldn't help myself and I've added more to fill up some of the spaces and even gave them all a face lift!

Here is the before wall......

I'd say a little sparse and not the "Wow" I thought it could be!

And here is the wall after.......

I found a few more mirrors at the Goodwill and discovered a few I had stashed away and forgotten all about. I decided I wanted something a little more cohesive on the wall. So I got some Valspar Churchhill Hotel Vanilla spray paint and went to town!

I decided to keep the center one black as a contrast and because it was my most expensive mirror, I wanted the option to move it somewhere else if I so desired.

Can you see the chalkboard on the lower left. It says smile Gus! Hey birds do smile!

It has been a little crazy around here lately trying to get last minute school shopping finished and getting my house ready for my big 40th birthday party on the 20th. Let me just say it wasn't my idea to have this big bash. I think it's payback that I never had one for my husband's 40th. Funny thing is, I'm doing all the planning.

It's all good though. We have 75 people so far and quite possibly 100 coming! It'll be a fun evening but for now I'm scrambling to get my living room painted (not the smartest time to choose a new paint color) and any other projects checked off my to do list! School starts next Thursday and that's when some out of town company arrives!

Whew, I'm exhausted just writing all that!

Out for a Morning Stroll!

My Claire-Bear, she sure is a funny one. She has such energy and spunk that I sometimes want to bottle it. Hmmm, maybe that's just piss and vinegar so on second thought, I'll skip the bottling!

I would say that on most days her goal is to drive me crazy but boy does she make me smile!

She got up the other morning, got dressed and yelled that she was taking Jasmine for a walk. I happened to catch a glimpse of Jasmine out of the corner of my eye and here is what I saw........

Poor Jasmine, she was dressed up in one of Claire's doll dresses. She wasn't even moving. It was as if the dress made her frozen! I told Claire that I didn't think Jazzy was feeling it! In fact, I'm pretty sure she was hating it!
But, oh no Claire didn't care. She wasn't going to take no for an answer!

She swooped her up and said, "see, we match!"

She then rather loudly said, "And Mom, you can't stop me, I'm taking her for a walk!"

I didn't argue with her. I know which battles to pick and this one I didn't mind her winning! So I grabbed my crap-tastic camera (boy do I need a new one) and followed them outside!

I wish I could have gotten her voice on here. She was so cute trying to coax Jasmine to move her feet. I even heard her say, "Jasmine, you are so pretty baby, come on this will be fun!"

Jasmine is looking at me with that, "Help, get me outta here look!"

Claire gave up on trying to get Jasmine to walk. So she picked her up, and away they went!

Claire came home and said she was exhausted from carrying Jasmine the whole way. Yup all 4 pounds of her can exhaust a 7 year old. I think they were both pooped and well, maybe Jasmine was even a tad bit embarrassed!

~ I think my sole purpose on this earth is to let the dog out and then back in again, about 725 times a day!

~ Despite what the Vet says and her condescending tone, bunnies do need to live outside and not in my kitchen!

~ When your husband says his gym bag smells like someone else's ass take his word for it and just throw it out, don't reach your hand in. It's never a good thing!

~ That "No" is a word both animals and kids can't seem to comprehend!

~ We are soon to be free of T.V. Yes we have canceled all television in my house starting Aug. 3! Bye Bye Disney, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network! You will not have a hold on my children anymore!

~ I've started my countdown to the 1st day of school! Actually that started the day after school got out!

~ I'll be 40 on August 20th and I believe my 40's will be better than my 30's!

~ Weight Watcher's is the best non-diet out there. Proof is that I've lost 44 pounds since April and I feel great!

~ 7 Year old girls who freak out and change their outfits multiple times, and then have their mother pull out of the driveway only to turn right back around and go home to change again is insane! She might not make it to 8 if this keeps happening!

~ A Rainy day means I don't have to go to the pool! Yes! Yipee! Whoo, Hoo!

~ I think kids go to bed at night so we can like them again in the morning!

~ Periods happen! So when you tell you husband, "Let's get it on!" Buddy, get it on will you! Did I not tell you it was coming?

~ Kids don't like to bathe in the Summer. They say the pool water helps rinse them! So, do I tell them what they are probably rinsing in? Tempting!

~ My kids would rather come with me to get the oil changed then stay home and watch t.v.. Dang, I can't even do boring stuff at 8:30 in the morning to be alone. I'm gonna set up for my pap and then for sure I can get privacy!

~ Just because they make a bikini in your size doesn't mean you should wear one, really please don't!

~ If your mother says, "Go outside and play!" Please don't feel the need to come knocking on our door! She means go Outside for a reason!

~ Why are there never any Police officers around when the person in front and behind you are swerving because they are texting!

~ Silent dog farts truly are deadly! Ooh, burning, eyes are burning!

My Pantry got a Makeover!

I finally did it! I got so sick of how disorganized my pantry was that I spent the other night and next day giving it a face lift!

Now before I open these doors I need to get my hardhat! There have been too many times that a few cans and boxes have tried to make a run for it and I've been knocked to the floor. So brace yourselves, its pretty bad in there!

As Jack Nicholson once said, "You can't handle the truth!"

Well. I warned you!

This is a pretty pathetic sight especially since the kids complain way to much that there is never anything to eat!

Now by no means can I ever top Shelly's pantry over at House of Smith's.

Come on, have you seen it? Amazing with a capital A! Didn't they do a great job? I am in love with that wall treatment!

So taking some inspiration from Shelly I took everything out of the cabinets and started planning it's demise. I mean re-awakening! I will spare you that bit of craziness and proceeded to make some sense of the chaos!

I was truly amazed at how many things had expired in there. I'm not sure anyone should have things from the year their daughter was born. Especially since she just had her 7th birthday, ya think?

I had already had a few baskets in that rubble but ran out to Jo Ann Fabrics and purchased some more baskets that were on sale for half price!

I got out my handy dandy labeler and started labeling each shelf and container accordingly!

Now I have a place for everything! A basket for chips, bread, snack bars, oatmeal, pasta, drink mixes etc.

Last night my jokester husband attempted to mess with my system and boy did he get it.

He re-arranged some of the cans and put them in the wrong places to see if I would notice. Well it didn't take long before I noticed things out of place and yes he got an earful! Don't mess with this pantry cleaning fool mister! It won't be pretty!

So I better not hear any crabbing that they can't find something or that there isn't anything to eat!

Tonight's Special: Fish and Shit!

I'm sure if you stopped over to our house any night this week, you would walk in to an overpowering smell of fish and yes even Shit! I'm not proud!

First off, the fish smell is not because my daughter's fish died while we were gone, lucky for me (yes, I"m being facetious) we still have fish! No the fish smell comes from my obsession with Salmon lately! That is pretty much the only meat I eat and the kids beg, plead and even offer to not fight, if I opt not to cook it! Sorry kiddos, you won't fight because I'm the Mama and if Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!

So on to the shit! When we got home from Branson we waited a day to pick up the pooches. They were staying out of town at a very nice farm where a guy has a kennel. I have a friend that takes her dog there so I knew it was good.
Now it is pretty much known to all around here that our dogs are freaks. So being around other dogs is very foreign to them. Did I mention we flunked puppy school? Well we most definitely did! I think all that socializing they teach in those classes didn't quite work for us!

In fact we were the only ones in the class to receive a
certificate of Participation! Thanks Val. I framed it! She wasn't even discreet about the certificate, oh no! She had to let the whole class know that Theo was a good sport but wasn't like the rest of the gang. Awesome, thanks, no really! I held my head up high and walked out saying, "Hey, we all have things we're good at and I'm ok with not having the dog training, animal loving, blue ribbon gene in me, because gosh darn it people like me! And maybe we just have a unique dog and all of your dogs are freaks!

This was kinda how Theo was in class!

I guess Theo was just a little shell shocked being away from home. Let's just say that poor Theo must have swallowed a lot of air while we were gone and didn't let it out until he got home. Once we had him home we noticed after a few times of going out to drop a few kids off at the pool, he came back in and had a little dirt on his skirt! I'll spare you that picture and show you one of him dozing off!

I happened to miss this glorious site at first and then noticed he managed to side swipe the couch! I screamed and immediately told my husband I was getting rid of him! I can't take it anymore! My husband didn't quite have the same reaction as I did. His reaction was more of on the defensive side and said, "no way are we getting rid of him!"

Geez it wasn't as if I said I was getting rid of one of his balls!

I'm pretty sure he would rather get rid of me then that dam dog! I swear in my next life I am going to be a lesbian! Now, I'm not really looking for offers here but what I'm saying is that if two gals saw a spot of pooh on the couch they would both shriek and say, "yep he has gotta go. No way are we having a house with a dog that craps!"

Am I right?

I am so buying these suckers for the dam dogs! And then I'm gonna put them on the rest of the family so I don't have to wash their "delicates"

And if you thought that was bad, now Jasmine has the same bug.

She makes us so proud to call her our boot scooter. Thank God she hits the potty pads!

Does anyone else out there deal with this Crap? Yes, pun intended!

Off to do some clean up! Someone better hide the phone or I'm calling the pound!

Wally World of sorts!

Well folks, I've been absent for a few days and I thought I would tell you why. We decided to take a much needed va-ca and hit the highways. Boy, I feel we are more and more like the Griswold family when we travel. Well, minus the Aunt and the dog strapped to the bumper. Tempting as that may sound at times, I don't really have the heart. Now my kids, now that's something I might consider!

So where are we you ask? Well it isn't the real Wally World now is it? But let me just say it is a world all it's own! Boy howdy is it ever! And that world my friends would be none other than, wait for it, wait for it, ok it's

Silver Dollar City folks. Yup we are in Branson!

Ok, so all you Southern people who deal with this 105 degree temps on a regular basis are crazy if you ask me. We've all melted just from walking from the steps of our cabin to our car! Ok so we're pansies, I won't lie!

Last night we had dinner on a showboat. How lucky were we when we had front row seats. The kids loved it but I prayed I wouldn't be ushered up stage as the butt of the comedian's jokes. Sitting on the aisle in the front row is almost like open season for a comedian!

I wish I knew how to post pics with my I-Pad here but as I've said before I am far from computer geek as they get.

I can't wait to catch up with you all and get back into my blogging routine!

Call me crazy but I don't believe most people should wear teeny tiny string bikinis.

All my people watching at the pool lately, has drawn more flies then I care to eat and sure reinforces my decision to stay fully clothed.

I'm all for walking around with confidence and in believing that beauty isn't just skin deep but all that skin, Dear Lord, can we please leave a little to the imagination!

Ok, so with that said, I do have 3 beauties that couldn't be cuter wearing their little polka dot bikinis and here they are.....

I had found the large bowling pin at a garage sale years ago. My husband always thought I was crazy moving that darn thing around but I knew there was a reason for it! And was I right, or was I right?

I asked Jen if she would paint some fun sun goddesses and she loved the idea! Aren't their bathing caps darling?

Their rears have to be about the cutest ever. Can you see that the large one's crack shows a little bit, hee hee!

She wore an itsy bitsy teenie weenie, white polka dot bikini, that she wore for the first time today!

They even have belly buttons!

Caution....Falling People!

I've noticed my number of followers has dropped by 2 in the past week. Hmmm, should I be worried?

I never really paid too much attention to how many followers I had, I mean not consciencly! But the idea of my numbers falling makes me wonder why?

I understand I don't have control over whether you follow me or not. Seriously, just because it says I have 827 oops I mean 825 followers doesn't even mean most of you even check out my blog anymore. Maybe you decided to follow me because I was having a giveaway and you've never come back. That's ok. Even if you aren't here, I am. I guess my excuse is not that I don't have anything to write about, but rather the time to write it all down. Summer is a busy time with the kids and having them home everyday makes it harder and my posts few and far between!

Now if you would like I could always tie them up for an hour or two a day so I can get a post done and have time to comment on all you out there.

Either way it looks like I might be able to get some work done, ya think?

Or, I could just plop them in front of the electronic babysitter for a while.

Even if they do seem a little bored!

But you see, I can't and I won't do that! My kids came first before this blogging adventure and as much as I love blogging and hope to continue for a long time, I need to be a mother first and then a Blogger second!

Now, don't you worry your pretty little heads off! I'll be here and there. You see, my brain is always going. I'm like the Energizer Bunny. My brain speaks faster than I can usually type or get out with words. I'm amazed I get any sleep at night.

I have so many ideas constantly zinging around in my head that before you know it, the week is over and I can't say I've accomplished much of anything. But for some reason I'm pooped!

There are some blogs out there that are Follower Free blogs, but I don't think that option is for me. I personally like seeing your smiling faces under my follower button.

I've said all along that this blog is for me and about me. I'm like an open book. If you want to continue to read it then you'll grab your favorite book mark! It's my online journal of my life with kids, animals and my multiple personalities! Ha, just wanted to see if you were listening! I believe things happen for a reason and you just have to learn from them!

I hope I don't have any more followers that fall away but its ok, it happens and it's not the end all be all of my blogging!

I saw this saying on an Etsy site called dazeychic and it pretty much describes my mood yesterday and even today!

I found the best Craigslist buy and I'm in Heaven! Look at this beauty that I got for $115.00!

The detail is amazing!

And look at all those drawers!

The listing was described as a ladies vanity, but I think you could almost use it as a writing table!

I love the detail on the drawer and the handles are wonderful for the piece!

I need to recover the stool but not sure of what fabric! How fun is that gold detail on the legs?

Right now it is sitting in my bedroom tucked by the window. It really doesn't go with anything in here. I think I must be trying to live out some fantasy of wanting a vanity as a young girl. So for now it's mine and eventually when Claire gets older I'm sure she will take it over as her vanity. I'm just not feeling she is old enough for it at the moment! I have this fear of spilled nail polish across the top, eeek!

I found a great recipe I'll be trying soon!

MAI TAI TIKI RUM POPS!

Coconut Colada Layer Ingredients:

1 container (6 ounces) Yoplait Original 99 percent Fat Free piña colada or key lime pie yogurt
1/4 cup canned coconut milk, well stirred (not cream of coconut)
1 teaspoon dark rum

Mango Mai Tai Layer Ingredients:

1 fresh mango, peeled, pitted and cubed (about 1 cup)
3 tablespoons sugar
3/4 cup mango nectar, chilled
2 tablespoons dark rum
2 tablespoons light rum
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon orange liqueur
1 teaspoon amaretto liqueur

1. In small bowl, beat coconut colada layer ingredients with whisk until smooth. Divide mixture among six 5-ounce paper cups. Cover with foil; insert craft stick (flat wooden stick with round ends) through foil into center of pop. Freeze two to three hours or until frozen.

2. Meanwhile, in blender, place mango mai tai layer ingredients. Cover; blend on medium speed about 45 seconds, stopping frequently to scrape sides, until smooth. Cover and refrigerate while waiting for first layer to freeze.

3. When first layer is frozen, remove foil from pops. Pour mango mixture over frozen layer. Return foil to pops to help support sticks. Freeze about eight hours or until frozen before serving. Store remaining pops covered in freezer.

Makes 6 tiki pops.

We spent the whole day at the pool and I think I'm done for the summer, maybe even for the next 3 summers! It's just too hot for my Irish/Italian skin! Don't you think?

I swear the sun looked like this and it felt about this close!

Ok, so that leathery skin "Woman" isn't me. Dear God no! I use SPF 100 and sit under the shade! But the sun did feel hot as Hades!

I get a kick out of people watching while I'm there, especially when they miss a spot or two of sun block or get fried and they end up looking like these people!

Poor kid didn't know what hit him, until he got home!

I think we've all done this before!

Etsy Love for Summer!

As I sit here enjoying the silence, OK it's not completely silent, but my 3 nieces are no longer my responsibility and we are back to being normal. Well, the jury might still be out on that one! Ha Ha, I heard you all laughing!

I finally have the time to sit here with my very large Keep Calm and Carry On filled coffee mug and peruse Etsy!

And speaking of Keep Calm and Carry On, I was not surprised one bit when I saw this summer version of Keep Calm. Gotta love it!

I'm here, honest I am! I've just been a little busy this week with 3 extra kids.

My 2 nieces (sans parents) have been visiting since Sunday and my niece from CA (2) came in on Tuesday! Thank goodness my sister is here to help corral these kiddos!

Wow, having all these kids is exhausting! I admire all of you who do this on a daily basis and will never know how you do it every day without going crazy or looking like this!

They are all great kids, but the noise, oh boy is that noise deafening!

I'm off to consume copious amounts of coffee!

Canvas Make-Over!

I am so excited to show you my "Happy" canvas make-over for my front entry!

I'm using 2 ideas from 2 different wonderful bloggers. Please read on for details!

Dana at House Tweaking did a wonderful drop cloth piece of art with a verse from one of my daughter's favorite songs. I loved it so much I just knew I had to re-create it for myself. I had found this canvas at a garage sale last summer and figured this would be the back drop for my new art. I would have loved to use drop cloth like Dana had but since I like to re-use what I have I'll have to try drop cloth for something else! This is how is was before I did my magic!

I then saw this super cool technique from Ashley over at Lil Blue Boo. She did a cool canvas using phone book sheets and decoupage. I thought how perfect for giving texture to my canvas. Head on over to Ashley's blog for her step by step tutorial.

I ripped the black and white pages from an old phone book and just brushed some decoupage on each piece as I overlapped then on to each other.

After all the pieces of phone book were finished I brushed more Mod Podge over to seal it.

Then I painted the canvas yellow and arranged my stencils.

I painted the letters gray. I'm loving the yellow gray combo lately. After I painted each letter, it felt like it was missing something. So my husband came up with the idea of having each letter seem like the sun was hitting if from above.

And here it is hung in the entry!

I gave it another coat of Mod Podge to seal all the letters.

My daughter loves it and even my son thought it was pretty cool!

Coffee Bag Upholstery Project!

I was so fortunate to receive a pile of burlap coffee sacks from my good friend

Mel over at Junkin Junky a while back. She had done a project with coffee sacks and I commented how jealous I was, and how I wasn't able to get any around here. Well that sweet thing just went ahead and sent me some. Love her!

I hope if you haven't already been to her blog, head on over and check her out. Wow, does she ever have some crazy talent! I still don't think that gal sleeps because she just cranks out project after project. Funny, she assures me she gets her shut-eye but I think she must be sleep walking and crafting at the same time!

I feel bad because they've pretty much been collecting dust. I came across them the other day and thought I should start putting these to use, so decided I would recover my black bench in the Dining Room.

I love the wording on it!

I think it goes well with my semi-burlap curtains!

Now I just need to tackle some pillows. Should I do them with the remaining sacks I have?

Or maybe I'll just make one big one, any thoughts?

I've decided to start tackling the many projects I have on my list this summer. So its nice to get this one checked off! I'm currently doing a fun art piece for my entry.

Wall of Mirrors....It's for the Bird!

Can I say that having a bird is a little annoying. He is currently sitting on my hat while I type this and if he poops, I swear he might accidentally fly away!

Oops, did I just say that out loud?

He can really start squawking if he isn't held or entertained on a routine basis. I don't have time to entertain the real children, so how am I going to find the time to entertain one with wings?

I think I found the solution to my problems. I decided to give Gus someone to look at. Well lets just say he hasn't caught on that he is really looking at himself. I'm hoping he never catches on. I love it. It means less poop on my shirt and hat.

Here's the happy fellow!

And here is his wall of mirrors! Many of these mirrors are Good Will purchases and garage sale finds. The large silver one happened to be a $20.00 clearanced one at Hobby Lobby, but hey it was originally $80.00. I'd say that was a steal. The little round one at the bottom was also clearanced at Hobby Lobby. I'm thinking it was about $7.00. I added some black to the star burst ones to tone down the gold!

I hung the small round one down at the bottom, so that when Gus is on his ladder he can talk to himself! Then he walks up and hops up on his branch and talks to himself again in the large mirror!

I'm hoping to find other mirrors and finish my wall soon!

For now, I'm thinking this is a win, win for the both of us!

School is officially out and the hellions are home for 79 days, ouch! I've already started my countdown for back to school in my laundry room. So, you think they've noticed?

On to my many secrets!

Ok, do I really have any secrets? You all know me to be an open book, am I right?

1. My first secret is that I have recently lost 23lbs with Weight Watchers! I haven't done a post on this because I wanted there to be a significant amount lost before I bragged about it! I'm entitled right?

Weight Watchers is a gift from above and I cannot imagine doing anything other than this. It is truly a way of living and not a diet at all. I've never enjoyed fruits and veggies as much as now. And I really feel great.

2. I have said many times before that I hate cooking. That I in fact would rather clean a toilet than cook. Yes, I really did say that. Well, now that I am on Weight Watchers I'm starting to like cooking and finding new recipes that fit within my points. My family is getting use to "Mom's" cooking and we are all eating healthier!

3. I hate summer. No, not because the kids are home and constantly yelling, "Mom, mom" or every neighborhood kid would rather be at our house than their own. Ok, maybe a little bit. No, I pretty much hate to sweat! I also hate shorts, I rarely wear them. And I detest seeing people wear teeny tiny clothes, that oh dear Lord they should never have bought in the first place! Scary with a capital S!

4. Mice freak me out! My brain shuts off if I see one and I start to panic. We have had some in the garage just recently. When my husband told me, I'm pretty sure I started to hyperventilate. I called the pest guy and he has since sealed up any spots that looked suspicious. So far so good!

5. I get car sick riding in the front passenger seat. Maybe its a control thing but just let me drive! It's so much easier on us all if I do.

6. When the kids are gone for the day I enjoy my silence. I rarely work around the house with music on, it just makes me nervous. My friend says its because, I have too much going on in my head for even one more thing! She might be right.

7. How much poop should one person deal with in a day? I'm really sick of cleaning up after the dogs, the bunny and this dam bird! I wish he'd learn how to control himself. Is it too much to ask for a little signal before he poops right on you! How many shirts do I have to change in a day? Do you think that we could establish a code system here buddy? How about 1 squawk if you are hungry, 2 squawks if you need to poop and 3 squawks when you want to go night night! That seems like a plan, OK Gus?

Last Day of Freedom!

Sorry for being a little MIA this week. It has been crazy with this being our last week of school and last minute searches for lost library books and school assignments that needed to be handed in before today. So today is my last day of freedom for a couple months. I'm not sure I'm ready for the hoodlums to be here 24/7!

Remember I don't just have mine every day but all the neighbor kids!

How on earth is today the last day of school? How did it just creep up on me? OMGosh today is really it! The last day to sit and veg on the computer with my cup of joe and eat my Bon Bons while catching up with all your lovely blogs!

Can I just say I need to order me one of these!

I figure if I remember to take one of these everyday then I'll be good to go!

Well I'm off to Field Day with my 1st grader and a million screaming rugrats!

I made curtains, well sort of!

I'm pretty sure if my Home Economics teacher could see me now, she would be horrified at my sewing or lack there of! Good ole Mrs. Cunningham, (well I think that was her name). I wonder what ever happened to her!

Hey, give me a break! I haven't had Home Economics since I was 16 and I'm almost 40, so you do the math!

Can you even imagine sitting in a class like this? They truly look interested and ready to start sewing!

I was never very good at this thing called sewing anyway. I remember I passed the class but barely. We had a final project that counted for like 95% of our grade! We were to make an outfit that we could actually wear! So basically a skirt and a shirt. Mine was heinous! I don't even think I would have been caught dead in that thing! I know I screwed the buttons up and one collar was a little longer then the other. Not to mention the fabric was stiff and blue with thin white stripes.

In no way shape or form did my skirt look as cute as this one!

Do you remember being a kid and getting your very own sewing machine for Christmas? The idea of sewing a pot holder was the greatest thing ever. Ok, that and collecting Lisa Frank stickers but I digress!

The kids have one week left of school so I knew I couldn't wait any longer to get these done. I decided yesterday I would give the old, well rather brand spanking new sewing machine for a ride and sew me some curtains. Ok, not really the whole set but rather add a band of color at the bottom.

Proof that I really did in fact use a machine!

How do people do this thing called sewing? I think I must be going blind or in desperate need of bifocals. I can't sew a straight line to save my life! And I'm almost positive Gus our bird will be spitting out some not so pretty words soon. I wasn't about to hold my tongue since the kids were gone.

I need to order me a copy of this and quick!

Whatever you do, if you happen to stop by for a visit, do not, I repeat, "Do not turn my curtains over and check my stitching!" I swear there will be serious consequences!

I had my husband move the rod up higher so they could kind of puddle the floor!

I purchased curtains from Target and decided to go to Hobby Lobby and purchase black burlap to add the band at the bottom. What do you think?

I think I need to bring the Cheers down a little because now it looks too high!

I'm not ready for any requests at the moment but give me a couple more tries at it and anythings possible!

Off to my nephew's high school graduation this weekend!

A huge Tanner and Kenzie lamp shade for only $4.99! Brand new in the plastic even!

Ahhhhh, I screamed as I spotted it! Ok, only in my mind, I didn't want to scare anyone!

As you can see from the size of my coffee table the shade is quite large!

Inside is a neat shiny silver, ooooooh!

New Lamps for Summer!

Most of you know my obsession with lamps. I love them more than most women love shoes. In fact when I see a good lamp, I practically run towards them, so don't even think about getting in my way.

I was in the wonderful TJ Maxx store the other day and spied this lovely from across the store.

I almost knocked myself out trying to get to the dam thing! I was able to find another one and snagged them both right up!

I decided to test them out in the entry way first to see if I liked them and I think I'm quite happy with them there. Here is the before picture of my entry with my black and white shades and dark bases.

And here is the entry now!

The shades are a linen type and the creamy color works well with the wall color!

As you can see in the mirror I still have my Easter Tree up! I think it might be time to dig out the summer stuff and get thoe eggs off of there!

A Bunny and a Bird! So what's next a Baboon?

I love how my kiddos get this wild hare to add more creatures to our little family. It isn't just the kiddos who love the animals but my husband. Sometimes I think he is far worse than they are. And it seems like all it takes is some batting of the eyelashes, a couple of tears and her wish is his command.

Now, they don't dare ask him in front of me because I will stomp my foot in protest. So guess what happened the other day? I was bamboozled again! And this time it was twice in two days. I guess you could call me the sucker that I don't protest loud enough, but it doesn't seem to matter much, they just sneak them in the back door, literally!

Claire got her bunny, Charlie. Still not sure if it's a boy or a girl. So we think Charlie goes both ways. Well, I wasn't implying "THAT", but I guess it could be interesting if we got it a friend, lol!

And then there's Gus here! Its technically James' but my husband is in love with him!

Sorry, this was the best picture I could get of him with all his squawking!

So now I'm truly worried! I'm afraid since we're into animals that start with the letter "B", if they would try to sneak one of these guys in on me? It would not surprise me, except that they are illegal as pets!

Well if you could have them as pets, my luck it would be this mean creepy one!

And they would multiply and destroy everything!

So, now were are referred to as the neighborhood zoo. None of the other parents have to even think about getting a pet for their kids, they just tell them to run over to Megan's house!

Well, I'm off to find my earplugs for the night!

PMD.....Pimple of Mass Destruction!

I went to bed last night feeling a little pimple coming on. I only referred to it as a "little" pimple because I didn't know there was an impending volcano waiting to erupt. We've all been there right? Ok, maybe some of you don't like to talk about them like I do, but hey, we all have them so call them what you will like zits, acne, blemishes, lurkers, or even creatures.

I did what any woman might do in this situation and that is to put a dab of toothpaste on it!

Well my husband took one look at me and said, "Baby, let's get it on!".

See, even after 18 years of marriage, I still got it!

I woke this morning thinking for sure the toothpaste did the trick. It just had too! Ha, who was I kidding. My daughter came in and said, "Ewwwwwww, what is that?

"Am I gonna have that when I'm your age?" "Honey, I hope not, but I looked exactly like my mother, skin and all (actually my mother had beautiful skin) so the odds are not in your favor!'' Yes, I'm evil and I kinda like it!

So, I went off to make the coffee, pack the lunches, toss a few not so very nice mommy words out and then threw the kids out the door!

I passed by a mirror and did a double take because as I was busy getting the kids out the door, the volcano did erupt and .......

now I see why Claire said Ewwwww!

Ok, I'm going in. I've got to go in head first (get it head first) and tackle this thing! I know its gonna hurt, but I can't take it anymore! I might scare someone!

I washed my face and tried to do my best cover up. Hell, I think I even spent 45 minutes trying to camouflage the thing and dam if the thing didn't triple in size. How the hell am I gonna cover this bad boy now?

I wonder if anyone will notice if I walk around like this?

I need to order some of this and fast!

I'd even try this if it works!

Hey I was only heading to the Library and Walmart. I figured my chances were mighty high that I would see many oozing people wandering both of those aisles, so I left my bag in the car!

I'm pretty sure with people like these, my little crater looked like a spec of dust!

Insert Foot Here!

So we were sitting in the bleachers at my son's school band/music concert last week, and I kinda had a very loud oops moment!

Just recently my son switched from playing Alto Sax to playing the Baritone Sax. We hadn't had the opportunity until then to see him play the thing or even carry it for that matter. His teacher doesn't want him to bring it back and forth because of how heavy and expensive it is. By the looks of it, I could understand her logic!

The concert itself went off without a hitch. Well lets just say it was as good as a 5th grade band concert could be. As James was walking off stage a friend's husband who was sitting close by said, "Wow, I'm impressed, that thing sure looks heavy for James to carry!" I then rather loudly said, "Yeah, did you see his strap on!"

I of course was referring to this, but by that time there was no back pedaling that would help me get out of this situation, and all eyes were on me!

Then my friend's husband said, "Well at least he's a boy!". I'm not sure if that helped any.

Hey it was getting a little boring in there and I just thought I would spice things up, no not really. I think its called, think before you speak! I'm still learning!

I wonder if I will ever sit through something without having to open mouth and insert foot. Doubtful, very doubtful. Where would the fun be in that!

A Kid's thoughts on Tooth Brushing!

I wonder if in your house it's a struggle to get your kids to brush their teeth. Well it sure is in mine. In fact, I can't tell you how many times one of my kids will say,

"I'll brush in the morning, I promise!" Funny thing is, come morning regardless if they did brush the night before or not, they will then say,

"I'll chew gum, no biggie!"

What do you mean no biggie, you still have to brush them! You're going to knock the bus driver over with your breath!

I can't tell you how many times I use this statement.... and it's still not working!

Well the other night we had the usual nightly battle of the tooth brush with Claire. I must have asked her 5 times to get her fanny in the bathroom and get her teeth brushed. I did my normal, yell, glare and even threaten to not read her a story if she didn't get in there. Usually if I say there won't be any book tonight she just goes running!

So I was hoping she would surprise me and just go on in there and brush on her own. I was prepared to give her the normal speech on plaque and cavities and why we don't want them. When I got in to the bathroom and saw her just standing in front of the mirror without her toothbrush in hand, I jumped into my lecturing of how I wouldn't ever think of going to bed without brushing and flossing, never! She turned and sighed and looked up at me and said, "Mom, you brush your teeth like crazy because you already have a guy, I don't so I don't see why I need to!"

It was so hard not to laugh with this one! It was just too funny, her putting the two together!

She'll figure it out soon, right!

She better, look at those teeth!

Some days doesn't it seem like it would be more fun just to do this?

We are having our 5th day of rain and gloomy skies, its beginning to feel like we might never see the sun again! Plus poor Claire, she was up last night throwing up. So, neither one of us slept!

Off to switch the puke bucket!

I've been blogging for well over a year now and am still trying to figure out all the bells and whistles that go along with blogging. I would like to change my header and change some formatting but that seems to forever be a work in progress. I do think however, that I figured out how to get a "Subscribe via Email" button on my blog!

I am not as computer savvy as many of you out there, and most of the time I think I've done something and I find that not only have I not, but I've gone ahead and deleted something I really needed. So, fingers crossed I did it correctly! I just wondered if anyone out there that is interested in signing up, could let me know if they get an email with my new post tomorrow!

Gimme an "E"!

I found this big metal E at one of my favorite re-salvaged shops and just had to have it! The gal said it had been there a while, probably because no one's first or last name began with an E! Funny thing is no one's first name or even our last name begin with E either, but my husband and my son's middle name are Enoch so it works for us!

I'm a huge word and letter gal so this just had to come home with me.

I guess it could be for my gal Edith up there on the mantle too!

I picked up the mirror from the Good Will for $7.00 and thought I'd add the E for Whimsy!

Paired it with one of my many crowns, some green for Spring and Voila, my mantle!

Today is the 43rd edition of "Meet Me On Monday" but only my second edition! I had so much fun doing it last week, that I thought I'd do it again. If you are interested, head on over to Never Growing Old so you too can join in on the fun!

And My Answers are:

1. Caesar Salad or Garden Salad?

No doubt it would be a huge Garden Salad like the one below. I pop those grape tomatoes like candy. I have been on a salad kick lately. My 40th will be here before you know it so I'm watching what I eat. I prefer Blue Cheese Dressing but if the salad is good a light Italian or oil and vinegar does the trick.

I'm hoping I don't get burnt out with salads and start seeing this on my plate!

2. Will you be watching the Royal Wedding on April 29th?

I would love to, but I'm not sure I can convince the troops to sit through it! I will never forget the day that Lady Diana got married. We were heading out of town for our family vacation when my father said, "We're all packed and ready to go, wait, where is everybody?" We were glued to the television set and said, "No we can't leave, not now!"

3. Last thing you spent lots of money on?

That's an interesting question since I am the queen of bargain shopping! I guess it would have to be the school fundraiser we went too where my husband was the big spender. He bid on a barn party. Its a gorgeous barn, so it will be a great party, and get this....he bid on a motorcycle ride for myself and 3 of my girlfriends! I've never been on a motorcycle in my life and never thought I ever would. This is how I'm sure he wishes I would look like on one!

And, this is the reality of how I will look like! Enjoy your dreams Honey!

4. Window seat or aisle seat?

This one made me laugh because it means I'm on a plane and I so hate them. Well, I will go with window seat even though I am claustrophobic.

I think being on the aisle you seem to get bumped a lot and frankly I'm not too keen on having someone's tush in my face ever hour when they need to get up to use the restroom either. Also, there is that pressure to hurry and gather your things together when the plane lands, if you are in the aisle seat. I have enough anxiety with flying, I don't need someone breathing down my neck and impatient!

5. Do you know your blood type?

Absolutely, it is.... NO I have no clue! Probably something I should know, ya think?
